Flour from Roztocze type 500 Roztoczańska is the result of grinding wheat grains. Mechanically grated grain creates flour, and the outer coverings of the grains separated from it are called bran. The degree of grinding and separation of the bran from the flour produces different types of flours, which can be divided into dark and light flours. Flours from Roztocze type 450, 500 and 550 belong to the group of light flours. They are ground more thoroughly than other types of flour, completely or partially devoid of bran, and usually smooth in their structure.

What does the number next to the flour name mean?

This number indicates the mineral content of the flour. The flour sample is placed in a porcelain crucible and ashed for an hour in a special oven at a temperature of 95 0 C. The ash remaining in the vessel consists of mineral substances. The number specifying the type of flour is the percentage of ash multiplied by 1000.

Roztoczańska flour is an ideal flour which, thanks to its high degree of fineness, is used for all kinds of baked goods: shortcrust pastries, cookies and cakes, as well as for light wheat bread. It is also suitable for breading meat and fish. It is also perfect for various types of dough that require stickiness, e.g. croissants, croquettes, dumplings, dumplings and yeast dough. It can also be used to enrich aromatic sauces and traditional soups.
Type 500 flour is characterized by a high degree of milling of common wheat grains, and contains valuable potassium, phosphorus, proteins and folacin.
